Solid fiberglass hull with quarter guards, blue boot top. The bottom is finished in red ablative antifouling. Bottom has been blasted and epoxy coated by previous owner. 

Wide side decks with teak over fiberglass. Varnished teak cap rail and other trim with teak safety rails and bronze cleats and chocks. Large lazarette aft. Up two steps to the aft cabin top, three steps to the flying bridge which features the traditional Grand Banks fore and aft facing bench seats with storage under.

Engine & Mechanical:

1988 Single Caterpillar 3208NA, 210 hp V-8 diesel, FWC. Engine turns a four bladed propeller on 2" shaft through 2.5:1 Twin disc reduction gear. The yacht can be cruised at speeds of up to approximately 8.5 kts and shows 7,564 hours.  These engines are rated for over 15,000-20,000 hours at full cruise. Cruising speed: 8 knots @ 2250 RPM; Maximum speed: 10 knots @ 2800 RPM.

Accommodations: 

Accommodates up to five in two staterooms and the salon in a modified Grand Banks layout. Beautiful varnished teak joiner work throughout with some painted panels in the staterooms finished in linen white. The attractive cabin sole is teak parquet and is also varnished. The interior is bright and airy with 360 degree visibility with numerous windows and hatches. There are brass swivel reading lamps at each berth as well as several teak framed overhead lights. There is also 3 zone reverse cycle air conditioning (heat or cooling).

Starting forward is the Guest Stateroom with 6'6" vee berth, six drawers and a locker below the berth, and a large hanging locker aft of the port vee berth. The hull is lined with varnished teak ceilings and  custom bookshelves P&S. Adjoining the forward stateroom is a private Guest Head featuring a marble-like vanity and sink with H&C pressure water, and an ensuite shower with separate sump, manual W.C. plumbed via a Y-valve to the holding tank. There is a louvered teak door and sliding overhead teak hatch for privacy to this forward cabin.

Up three steps with side doors to port and starboard decks is the Main Salon with Galley to port and Lower Helm Station to starboard. The Main Salon features a 6'6" L-shaped settee to starboard. Forward of settee is a storage cabinet with drawer and cushioned top. There is a Grand Banks teak drop leaf table with silverware drawer, and bottle storage below.  Opposite the L-settee is the port side door, and a custom cabinet housing a top loading freezer compartment.

The Galley is to port with refrigeration box fitted with SeaFrost 12 volt refrigeration system. The original stove was removed in '97 and upgraded to a three burner Princess propane stove with oven with two 20 pound LPG cylinders mounted in vented locker on flybridge. The galley has a pull out cutting board, and four drawers and two lockers. Opposite the range is the convenient tip out trash bin. Single basin stainless sink with pressure H&C water, separate faucet with filtered potable water and third faucet with manual salt water pump.

Aft and three steps down, is the Owner's Stateroom with a double berth 4" wider than the standard Grand Banks double, to starboard. Below the berth there is excellent storage three cargo drawers. On centerline is a bureau with nine drawers and hideaway steps to egress through the aft companionway. To port is a single berth with storage under in 3 drawers; built in 12V and 110V lighting.

Forward and to port is a large hanging locker with shelf and automatic light. To starboard is the Master head featuring a separate stall shower, marble-type vanity and sink and new 2023 manual W.C. plumbed via a Y-valve to the holding tank.  Unlike the standard boats the owner has added a hatch over the shower compartment.  An additional improvement is a diverter valve that recirculates the hot water as it warms to save water, while one waits for it to warm for the shower.

THIRD REEF is highly detailed and well maintained throughout.
