HERON is a very handsome Downeast-style 28 Ellis Flybridge Cruiser built in 1983 by Ellis Boat Company in SW Harbor, ME. Her present owner is believed to be her third. In 2002, her Volvo diesel was replaced with a TAMD 41P, 200 hp, 6 cylinder, FWC diesel. Although her hour meter stopped working before this owner purchased her in 2020, he was told that there were approximately 500 hours on this engine.   • Engine hour meter is not working and @ 1432 hours in 2011 was based on original engine - owner was told there were approximately 500 hours on new engine in 2021 when he purchased the vessel.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

  • For 2 in an attractive Herreshoff-style interior of white bulkheads, varnished mahogany trim, and varnished clear spruce hull ceilings.
  • Chain and rode locker forward followed aft by vee berths with filler piece, making a generous-sized double berth.
  • Deck hatch overhead.
  • Next to port is a galley with S/S sink, hot and cold pressure water, hand pump for fresh water, and Origo 4100 two burner alcohol stove, cutting board, and a 12V-110V Norcold refrigerator.
  • Opposite the galley is a hanging locker, followed by an enclosed head with a Jabsco manual W.C., and new head hoses to a holding tank, with y-valve and manual pump to discharge overboard or through deck.
  • Below, the sole is a varnished teak and holly sole.
  • In the wheelhouse, the varnished Mahogany sole has three access hatches to the engine room and batteries. There are drop curtains aft to enclose this pilothouse. Further aft is a generous-sized cockpit with storage under the gunwales.
