HIGHLY REGARDED CRUISING VESSEL FOR UP TO THREE COUPLES
AND/OR WELL KNOWN SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH VESSEL ON THE GULF OF MAINE
ALCA i is one extraordinary vessel. The vessel was
designed and built to serve as an oceanographic laboratory for the
builder's (also owner and operator) research in sub-arctic waters. The
vessel has been extremely well built and is very well suited to its
intended purpose. This is the 9th vessel the owner has owned
and operated for his marine research, and the attention to design and
detail is the culmination of many years of knowledge and experience
(every system has a backup). Well-suited and easily converted to
long-range cruising for one to three couples. In addition to being
built in accordance with the standards of ABYC, NFP A and applicable
USCG requirements for recreational vessels, certain details of
construction and equipment installations (for example fuel tanks and
watertight bulkheads) have been carried out in conformance with USCG
"T Boat" requirements, as covered in 46USC Part 175 and
subsequently, to enhance possible future use of the vessel as a Coast
Guard inspected small passenger vessel, or could easily be converted
as a private Motorsailer with a three cabin, two head
layout. NOTE: WOODEN BOAT ARTICLE & ALSO OWNER'S
DESCRIPTION AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.
